The icy water stole my breath, my limbs stiffening with the shock of the cold. We swam desperately as arrows sliced through the air, their sharp whistles drowned out by the crashing waves. One struck my mother in the shoulder, and her cry of pain pierced through the chaos. "Keep swimming!" she shouted, her voice strained but commanding. I tried to reach her, but the current pulled us apart. Her movements slowed, her strength fading with each stroke. I screamed for her, but the river's roar drowned my voice. As the current dragged me away, I saw her slip beneath the water, her face pale against the dark waves. I reached the riverbank alone, shivering and broken. I sat there, staring at the endless water, hoping for her to surface. But she never did. She was gone .and so was my home What will happen to Lynn alone in a world full off monsters . Serena

It's 1737 when Serena arrives at Adela's Academy and she won't be allowed to leave for twenty years. Read about the chapter in her life that changed her forever. "Serena." I stopped swimming. "Serena." I looked down into the water and my heart leapt with joy at the sight of my beloved, one true love Kai. It was him, down to his deep brown eyes and wavy hair floating about his head. "Kai." Bubbles escaped my mouth as I reached out to him. My hand moved past his and his image faded away. "No!" I screamed at the water. My throat constricted as I realised i had let out all the air in my lungs. I sucked in and water painfully filled my lungs. I panicked. My arms failed and my black skirt lifted in the water so it blotted out all the light. I was going to die, and nobody would care. Fair is foul, and foul is fair. The witch's quote emerged from the recesses of my fading min. My limbs went numb. Everything is reversed, fair is foul, and foul is f-the darkness curled its black fist around the end of the noose looping my neck...and pulled.
