Rafe chuckled again, the sound dark and knowing. "You don't have to say it. I already know." His hand slid lower, his fingers grazing the curve of her hips, making her stomach tighten with anticipation. "I know how you feel, Elora. I've always known."

"Maybe I don't want you to see through me," she said, her voice a little huskier than intended. "Maybe I want to see how long you can keep up with me."
JJ's eyes flickered with something dangerous-something playful and wild. "I don't think you're ready for that, princess." His lips brushed just barely against her ear as he spoke, his words low and teasing, "But if you want to test me...i'm game.
