Life on the OBX

The OBX is a world where endless parties, sun-kissed days, and fierce rivalry between the Kooks and the Pogues define life. Elora Dubois has always been the perfect Kook-born into wealth, the queen of Kook Academy, captain of the volleyball and swim teams, and a straight-A student with the best surfboard skills on the island (though she'd never let JJ hear that). But beneath the shimmering surface of her flawless life, Elora finds herself torn between two worlds, both of which hold pieces of her heart.

Though she's the epitome of a Kook, Elora has always been drawn to her Pogue friends, the ones who make her feel alive in ways her privileged life never could. She's caught in the crossfire of love, loyalty, and rivalry, with her heart leading her in conflicting directions.

As Hurricane Agatha approaches, the storm is more than just a weather threat-it's a catalyst for everything Elora has kept hidden. As secrets unravel and friendships are tested, Elora is forced to confront her past, her choices, and the fractured relationships that define her. Torn between her loyalty to the Pogues and her ties to the Kooks, Elora faces a life-altering decision.

Rafe chuckled again, the sound dark and knowing. "You don't have to say it. I already know." His hand slid lower, his fingers grazing the curve of her hips, making her stomach tighten with anticipation. "I know how you feel, Elora. I've always known."

"Maybe I don't want you to see through me," she said, her voice a little huskier than intended. "Maybe I want to see how long you can keep up with me."
JJ's eyes flickered with something dangerous-something playful and wild. "I don't think you're ready for that, princess." His lips brushed just barely against her ear as he spoke, his words low and teasing, "But if you want to test me...i'm game.
