I was tired. It had been a long and exhausting day. I was ready to kick off my shoes, let my hair down, or at least loosen it and open my shirt. My bed should have been calling my name. For some reason, it wasn't. But the backyard was. It wasn't much, but it was mine. If I wanted to drown out the noise of the city my noise-canceling headphones did the trick. I had put my stuff away, found my headphones, and was headed for the back door when the doorbell rang. I turned and stared at the door in fear. Who knew where I lived and how did they find me? I was not expecting any visitors, was I? I grabbed my phone. No messages. I looked again at my door. It loomed in the distance. The doorbell rang again. My fear-addled mind checked my calendar. OH FUCK! I was expecting someone. All Rights Reserved
