An unfortunate chain of events

(Y/n) is a college student living a mundane and somewhat happy life with her parents in a small town in Illinois, enjoying her spare free time with friends and family.
Not an outstanding student nor the biggest of social butterflies, although (Y/n) doesn't complain about her academic successes and failures nor the friendships to come and go.
Everything seems to be going well in her day to day schedule-
