Everyone knows the best secrets are kept in a diary. A young child feels rebellious, as she writes about how she stole a boy's pretty purple crayon today. A freshman boy secretly gushes about his first kiss. A sixteen-year/old girl has trouble writing about how she feels towards her changing sexuality. A senior football player is overwhelmed with his academic standings, as he writes tearfully about losing scholarships. A diary is a childhood memory, a documentation of ups and downs on a rollercoaster called "growing up". Except, they aren't children anymore. She doesn't have anyone else to talk to, and even the neighbour's wandering cat won't bother hearing a word. He doesn't feel the need to acknowledge the mental illnesses and frustrations, in which he contains within the mask he wears daily. With forced smiles on their faces and society's large stamps of approval, these young adults hardly seem broken inside. Renee Knott and Tyler Moreau are both taking chances. Caffeine-driven diary entries and messy cursive at three a.m. is just about how much they have in common, and yet they're captivated by the thought of a friendship. The longer the silence lasts, the more the tension builds up enough to knock a latte out of their hands and spill all over their damaged hearts. Forever love isn't always the endgame, but maybe a friend could go along nicely with their pots of coffee and daily recordings. NOTE: This book is over 3 years old. I am in the process of editing this book and creating a new story following this description. Please bear with me as I work to create a new title, a new cover for this book, new chapters, a new plot, and develop new characters. The chapters would be updated at my discretion, since my education is vigorous and far more important than my hobby of writing. Thank you to anyone who reads and supports this book! WARNING: This book will contain descriptions of mental illnesses such as depression, and mild language.

"Wait," I put my hands on my hips and frown. "You woke me up to ask me this? Because you want to meet me every morning at five?" "Yes." "So you honestly expect me to throw away three hours of perfectly good sleep just to have coffee with you?" He rolls his eyes and smirks at me. "Yes." "And what's in it for me?" he takes a step towards me. "Duh. You get to drink coffee with me every day for a year," he points at his face. "Are you going to say no to this pretty face, are you?" I hand him a five-dollar bill. "Fine, I'll do it," he smiles. "Now go get me a mocha latte and a cream cheese bagel." √ √ √ Ella Cliff has always been the girl with a perfect Instagram feed, an amazing closet and boyfriends to die for. But Ella isn't who she appears to be. In reality, she despises the role she's playing. Waking up at four A.M. and having meltdowns are daily routines for her and she feels like she's all alone. Meet Connor Black, a boy with a smirk that makes girls swoon, who loves romance novels and who also hates 99% of the population. He's the most popular boy at his school, even though he doesn't talk to anyone. So, what happens when Ella, a girl living a double life, and Connor, a boy with severe depression, meet? What happens if they fall in love? And what would happen if they told everyone the truth? WARNING: This story contains insomnia, depression, and thoughts about suicide Coffee at 5 AM by Maura H.
