"You really mean that?" His lips were turned up into a tiny smile, as he held her tightly to his chest.
"Yes," she whispered, capturing his lips into a kiss that felt just right.
"Okay, then I'll start now with that honest thing. I've thought about what you said... I'm not going to break your heart. If anything, you'll probably be the one to break mine."
He laughed - a mixture of nervous energy and excitement. It's a sound she felt like she hadn't heard in a thousand years and it's a sound she would wait another thousand to hear. He leaned close, their breaths mingling. He kissed her again. Short and sweet. "I love you," he told her, "I love you."
