Set in Louisiana, 'Benight' follows Micah Theriot, a game warden who is sent to Challette Grove in order to assist with any duties that do not involve the ever busy deer season, which has occupied the majority of the warden services. While there, he looks into a string of mauled animals reported near properties, and soon finds himself unexpectedly roped into investigating a missing persons case. This act spirals into a far greater issue then anyone could have imagined, as eventually a murderer is presumed to be on the loose, and a horrid creature of legend is suspected as the assailant by Micah.
Working with the police department on the public aspects of the case, and with a local journalist on the folklore possibilities, Micah must find a way to catch the killer before it catches him. He must also prove once and for all if the Rougarou had truly returned to the swamplands, or if it was merely a speculation all along.

But when he is told about one job that could potentially set not only himself and his family for life, but for generations to come, Killjoy decides to screw it and do one last mission. The money he made was good, but not enough to last them. The reward? The deed to a gold mine. And the job? To investigate some desolate woods for missing people. It was as easy as they came. Romero Porcupine decides that a change of scenery would be a good decision for himself after he had experienced a traumatizing event in his life, caused due to a feeling of being outcased. So, he decided to go and live in a nice, quiet town. Probably no one will know who he is in the town, so maybe it is for the best. It is said to be amazing. The townsfolk are supposedly nice. The scenery is amazing. There does seem to be something off, but that's normal.... right? I mean, who would not love to live next to the woods in a town that has a "Wolf Problem," whatever that means, AM I RIGHT??? No but seriously, he is a bit concerned for his well-being, and along with trying to keep his past and his job a secret from the town, he is trying to figure out how to process some new... information... he gets about the world he lives in.
