It is a future society where every time you fall in love and the person loves you back a black tally mark appears on your wrist and whenever you have a crush a white tally mark appears on your wrist and when your love dies the black tally mark turns silver.                        ______________________________When Orion's family dies in a tragic car accident Orion's life is turned upside down.  His tally marks are all silver and there's nothing left that he loves and he attempts to commit suicide. 

Lux is an anomaly. She has no tally marks and she thinks it's because she does not have the ability to love anyone and that she's a monster.
