It is a future society where every time you fall in love and the person loves you back a black tally mark appears on your wrist and whenever you have a crush a white tally mark appears on your wrist and when your love dies the black tally mark turns silver.                        ______________________________When Orion's family dies in a tragic car accident Orion's life is turned upside down.  His tally marks are all silver and there's nothing left that he loves and he attempts to commit suicide. 

Lux is an anomaly. She has no tally marks and she thinks it's because she does not have the ability to love anyone and that she's a monster. She works for the government and gets an assignment to prevent Orion from committing suicide. To her this is just another mission but she learns a shocking truth and discovers a growing attraction to Orion.

You start turning both sides, spinning it around in your hand. "Easy there." Gally chuckles. He steps closer to you, rubbing his arm up and down your back to soothe you. "You doing okay?" "Yep." You chirp, grinning up at him. He double-checks your expression. His eye staring into yours to see how you're feeling. When he's sure you're not too stressed out, he removes his arm from you and throws a rag over his shoulder. "Okay, stick by me. Ya hyper little bunny..." Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.
