An assassin's job is never done. You can say that again. Blake, Drew, and Canyon are on a mission to take down one of America's largest syndicates, but working as a team may be one of the hardest jobs they've taken on.

With Blake, who scares everyone; Drew who can't keep her hands to her self, and Canyon 2.0, living and killing under one roof is tough.

Throw in people that will do anything to kill them, some awkward car rides, and a crazy mission, this job is really pushing the limit.

Don't forget the romance budding between Drew and a non-assassin, that's always news. But considering Drew is a one night sort of girl, things get past complicated.

Canyons got secrets, some that might seriously cost them. When push comes to shove, shit just might go down.

Can they live to see another day? Probably not.

To beat the Syndicate you need to be crazy. Good thing they're half way there. Answers won't come easy. Not any more.

"Are you sure?"

I look to what could mean death. I didn't fear death, because in my world, fear means you die.

I love the land of the living, but we're condemned to the life of the damned, if I'm being honest.

We literally kill people for a living. And the worst part, is that we kill the killers. We don't work for some private agencies, and kill good people.

No.

We kill the bad guys. The best part? The bad guys are afraid of us.

Besides, bing the anti-hero is way more fun. I don't know how this will end, and I really don't wanna find out. A tiny smirk settled on my lips.

"Hell yeah."

Book #3 in The Fire series BLAKE RIVERA "You're the leader of a gang." Aiden yells. I look up at him. "You don't think I know that?" I yell back. "I am doing everything I can to protect my people!" "Your people are being murdered. You're in a war you don't even know is happening." "I know what's going on out there. I know what's happening." "Then why aren't you doing anything to stop it?" I slam my hands on the desk and stand up. "I am doing everything I can!" I yell anger laced in my voice as it flowed through my veins. Suddenly the lights went out; a flashing red light comes on as alarms sound. "You need to do more." Aiden says. "Otherwise this. It's never going to stop." "They're attacking." I realize. "They're always attacking. And they're not going to stop until we're dead." "Or surrender." I mumble and Aidens head snaps up to look at me. "You won't. You can't." "No, what I can't do is kill Felix." "The man you loved isn't there anymore. Can't you see that? He's gone. A monster wears his skin. What's it going to take before you realize that?" I shake my head. "Evacuate. Make sure everyone gets out of here. No one dies today." "Well, someone should. And we both know who it needs to be." Aiden says before he leaves the room. I know Aiden is right, but I can't kill Felix, even if he keeps trying to kill me. I shake my head and sit back down. Just because everyone else was leaving didn't mean I had to also. Maybe I can talk some sense into him. I sigh. I've tried to already, but maybe this time it will be different. Maybe I should tell him the truth. Maybe I should tell him Nadia is his daughter. The door to my planning room is thrown open but I stay seated. I look up as men flood into the room, soon followed by Felix. His emotionless eyes find mine and he cocks his gun. "You should have run with the others."

[COMPLETED] "Shoot," Joey mumbles, letting out a string of profanities under his breath. We turn around to find a group of men, all with guns, standing where we just came from, and they look pissed... probably because they were forced to run through this tunnel after us. "Thought you could get away, didn't you?" The man who I saw before asks. His husky voice booms in the hollow tunnel, reverberating off of the dirt walls. His voice sounds familiar, and a realization strikes me. It sounds like the man from my dream. I remember him holding a gun and wearing a blue suit, smiling evilly at me. "Leave us alone," Joey says, sounding dangerous and snapping me out of my thoughts. The levity of the situation hits-we need to get out of here. I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living. 38 parts Complete Mature

Enter: An assassin, Levi Enter: A relatively normal lady, Simone. Simone lives a life where the basic needs are hard to come by. Add to the fact that she has four sisters to fend for, her efforts are damn near Nobel Prize worthy. Levi wakes up, ends lives, occasionally reads, goes to bed and then repeats the process all over again. He's a dangerous man despite his calm and aloof appearance and it doesn't help that he has a huge bounty on his head. Levi gets shot taking down a huge crime syndicate and that's pretty much how he envisions his life ending. Surprisingly, Simone, a total stranger comes to his rescue and let's him hide out at her place, despite how it's destined not to work. Put together a man with a bounty on his head, a woman with too much to lose, throw in a healthy dose of trauma, teenagers, toddlers, sharing a bed with a stranger and you're bound to have a royal mess. Let's not forget the most important part, they can't fall for each other because that just takes the stakes up, you don't just wake up and get attracted to an assassin so you can be used as mafia bait, basically destined not to work. That's what this is, a mess that shouldn't work. But it does. And everything goes to shit because of it. A story about love, assassination, family and healing from trauma.
