The road ahead is bumpy but by the time she's 18, she's been accepted in multiple colleges. She has a decent life with different foster parents, still hoping her mother will take her back. Tamia is somewhere getting worse, Chris feeling guilt, trying to get better, he eventually leaves Tamia. Tamia goes broke, she needs someone. She finds her daughter and reaches out to her.
