General Vanis has been a soldier nearly all her life. Raised by the Dynast, the long-standing ruler of The Moonlands, Vanis has known only loyalty and sacrifice. However, times are grave. The entire nation has been beseiged by a horde of beasts and mutants, and even their superior technology is not enough to counter the raw strength of these foes.
The war now all but lost, a surprise attack by an unknown assailant leaves Vanis the only member of the Dynast's senior staff. She is faced with two daunting tasks: find out who was behind that attack, and find a way to save the lives of the remaining handful of civilians before the Beasts overrun their last refuge.
