In an alternate universe where the characters of the anime/manga are samurai and/or swordsmen, "For One Night" takes place a few days after the official announcement of the end of the war (the villages involved in the conflict - Konoha, Suna and Iwa - they had signed an armistice), with the consequent return of the combatants to their respective villages. Naruto Uzumaki seeks to return to his homeland, passing through Kusagakure, where he decides to stay for one night, to continue his journey the next day.
