Everyone is reincarnated and assigned some type of unnatural form upon their death: ghost, witch, demon etc.
These unnaturals can go between their world and the human world as their job requires.
If you're a grim reaper, you're given a specific type of soul to take when their time comes based on how your own death occurred, as well as your karma.
Cecilia, a young "goody two shoes" writer who was murdered by her dad, is assigned victims of abuse. More specifically, children ages 4-18.
She's supposed to bring them to the processing center where it's decided what they'll be assigned, but doesn't believe it's safe or ideal for them after such difficult lives. So she creates her own space against her new family's wishes.
Everything works great for a while, until it doesn't.....

Two villains work for a guild that do mob/gangster like jobs for income. Like they take a job request (like an assassination) on the board and if they complete it, then the guild gives them the reward money. However the two main villains could never successfully complete a job because they are clumsy, their powers suck, or they always get defeated by a hero. The only income they receive is pity change from the guild. The guild members pretty much call them lame villains and that heroes walk all over them. The guild starts seeing them as a waste of money and space so they start to evict them. The main characters would have nowhere else to go, but see a request that's asking to kill one of the top heroes in the area. They grab the form and accept the job....Complete
