"Rain pelted the flimsy metal roof above him, it was cold. He laid wheezing and bloodied on his back, staring up at nothing in particular. "I may die here" he laughed to himself solemnly, a cough wracking his body as he spoke. Clamping a hand to his side he rolled over, spitting out the warm, metallic liquid that he had coughed up. His blood was quickly filling his lungs, and judging by the sharp pain he felt he assumed his rib was probably broken. "What a shitty way to go" he smiled to himself. He didn't know how long he had been lying on the dirt floor below him, but it definitely wasn't raining when he arrived. He tried to keep himself awake as his body fought to snatch his consciousness away from him. He heard footsteps crunching the damp soil outside the warehouse, then saw a flash of light cross his vision. "Shit. You good kid?" he heard a man call, he had no energy to respond. The last thing he saw before his consciousness slipped was three men, at least he thinks there were three of them, running towards him."
