Bridgette Miller is in an abusive relationship with her husband and he is blackmailing her with a picture and a video of her having sex with her therapist. He is threatening to ruin her social status and take her kids away from her, knowing that it won't affect him because he is just a sweet, gentle congressman. He doesn't like his kids but is just doing also this just to spite her all because of her affair.
