Quinn Lahey has finally found a place she could call home, but with the death of her mother and a troubling past looming over her she has a hard time letting her guard down. She shows up in South Carolina with nothing but some clothes, a couple bucks, and a rusty old truck. Trying to forget her past she recreates a new life for herself but in order to fully move on she has to finally face her fears. Oliver Mason is as charming and happy as they come. He works at his dad's maintenance shop, but his passion is becoming one with the waves. He's lived on the tiny island of Hilton Head all his life and he never plans on leaving, especially with some recently added responsibilities on his plate. When their two worlds collide everything changes.

Between her horrible family and the constant obstacles she faces with people from her past, Kenna is willing to take any distraction she can. Surf Shop owner, Wes Carter's main focus this summer is to maintain his Dads' Surf Shop, unable to uphold any distractions. But Wes finds it difficult to stay focused when all he can think about is the girl who he keeps running into. Wes is well aware that Kenna doesn't want to settle down, Wes is also aware he wants Kenna to be able to describe the word "Love" and he wants to be the reason she can.
