It was New Years Eve, and the palace staff were about to set off the fireworks display. She didn't really want to attend the function, but her mother and father insisted she be there. As princess of Midgard, she didn't actually have a choice. 

She stood in the moon lit garden waiting for the display, when she decided to get herself a goblet of fruit punch. She turned around and bumped into someone. Immediately apologizing, She looked up just as the clock struck twelve and the fireworks went off, colouring the sky. 

They met eyes. Oh great. It was her betrothed to be.
