They were orphaned at ten and four when a shell collapsed on their apartment building. Sokovia has had a... rough history, it's nowhere special but it's on the way to everywhere special."

Pain. That's the first thing I remember. Pure debilitating pain.
The feeling of cold metal cuffs digging into my wrists and ankles came next along with the scuffing sound of shoes against the metal floor.
Then finally the voices of the scientists who would make it their life's work to be mine and hundreds of others, walking talking nightmares sent straight from hell by the devil himself, for the next three years.
Good thing I'm accustomed to living nightmares from hell.

A bomb had destroyed their home and they were the only survivors. They had become orphans and vowed vengeance on the one who sent the bombs, Tony Stark. After the Avengers infiltrated the Hydra base, they got Loki's scepter and Tony asked Thor if he could research. He told Bruce that they could create artificial intelligence out of the source in the scepter, Ultron.
