In the world of Ether, the nation of Cathar is on the precipice of self-destruction. Threats from within and without have destabilized the Holy Empire on numerous occasions. With this, the Holy Emperor, Konstantin Gottschall, commonly called the 'Spider Emperor', seeks to create a new Holy Order under his jurisdiction. Thus, he collects Valentin Schulz, Vangaurd of the Knights of Sol, and calls in a favor. He must lead and found this Holy Order and act as his servant, collecting his top brass from those that the Emperor Wishes. 

On his journey, he will find all the conflicts that this world have to throw at him, as he meets his companions, the Jokester Cayde Rowe, the Lovely Kasula Sylfir, the Hearty Steinar Guðbrandsson, and the Intelligent Ameria Eilwenys. This quest will be a difficult one, as Servants of the Holy Emperor.
