80% of the population in the world have powers they call Quirks. Some of the population is different from others and the other 20% are Quirkless.

Lucky enough for Kanetsu Yoyume, he and his sister, Mizu, are apart of the 80% with their own Quirks that make them stand out as siblings. With one that has the goal of protecting them both while the other follows his sister, they're on their way to be heroes together.

Soon, everything begins to go downhill as Kanetsu and Mizu continue falling down a hole of trouble.

Them and the people they've befriended at the school soon need to figure out how to defend themselves...while having to defend others.

WARNING! This story is pretty heavy and gets more dark in later chapters. If you are sensitive to multiple dark themes which will usually be named at the beginning of that chapter, this story is most likely not for you.

I do not own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. The only characters I own are the (obvious) OCs. All rights go to Kohei Horikoshi.

In a world where 80% of the population has developed unique mutations in their genetic codes, giving them "superpowers", or "quirks", as they call it, it doesn't take long for fantasy and imagination to emerge out of the earth. And further, it doesn't take long for roles of "Heroes" and "Villains" to rise up as well. But... Who coins one as a "hero" or a "villain"...? The person themselves...? Or the people around them...? Light... Dark... Dusk... Dawn... Two sides of the same coin... Twilight... --- Kageyama Kazuma is a 16 year old boy, aspiring to follow his late father's footsteps, and become a hero who saves people. But... Not all can go as planned, or wished, right? So was the case for Kazuma as well, as his quirk soon found itself being held accountable for Kazuma being coined the word "villain" by those around him, before he could even begin his journey to becoming a hero. His only light in this darkness being his mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that smile she treasures so much to never leave the boy's face. But... Being a human at the end of the day, she can only do so much. Follow Kageyama through his journey to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the entirety of Japan. What awaits him on this journey? Friends? Love? Hardships? That's for you to find out. [This is a rework of my first book ever, "What It Means To Be A Hero"] --- I do not own any claims/rights to the My Hero Academia verse, all rights go to Kosei Horikoshi. I only own the original characters I've added to the story, and the arts I add in the book. In case the art doesn't belong to me, I'll credit the said person in the comments. Peace.
