Sam has always been an independent girl, looking out for herself. Even if she has had loving parents, after terrible events involving her mom, she doesn't want to get attached with anything or anyone. Sam has faced many events that have left her with traumas and demons which she's still fighting to overcome. Having a fresh start on the other side of the planet may seem a good option, but there are a lot of challenges that are waiting for her.

Ashton was the happiest boy alive, though everything changed when his dad turned his back on his family. Ashton had to grow up and be 'the man of the house' and look after his mom and siblings. The spark in his eyes disappeared. He doesn't feel like he needs to overcome his past, he feels numb and there are not many things that make him feel alive.

When Sam and Ashton meet, they both feel how their worlds collide. Is this for the better or for the worst? Can they help each other be their old selves again? Or will their pasts consume each other until there's nothing left?
