When children die at a young age they are given a very special role in the afterlife. They become invisible friends to other children who need them back in the living realm.

When sixteen-year-old Timothee Ferox suddenly dies in an accident he finds himself in a strange place where strange things seem normal. From reading his books quietly at the far end of the classroom he is expected to be the invisible friend of a little boy. And from a non-talkative person, he has to keep up with the flamboyant nature and energetic personality of Evan Lorry.
