Growing up can be hard, especially if you're doing it all by yourself while living miles away from your friends and family. But things get even harder when you discover that you're not exactly who you think you are. Suddenly everything changes... and you're forced to make decisions you never thought you'd ever have to make. But... maybe it's not so bad. Luckily for you, you have people watching - people who want to protect you. And then there are others. Unfortunately for Vinnie Wynters, these decisions... and these people... will majorly affect her entire life. ...As if her new acquired abilities didn't already do that. [All characters - except for Vinnie Wynters - are based on the 'X-men: Evolution' cartoon series back in 2000-2003. Unfortunately, I do not own the Marvel's X-men or any of their pictures which I happened to find using Google Images. I certainly wished I owned the rights to this genius fiction because they're practically my life. When Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr go looking for other mutants, in a great effort, to stop the world from going into a third world war, they are surprised by who they find. The first of the three that were found last is a girl who goes by the street name of a Dive, who was soon revealed by Charles without a protest from her, to be able to manipulate all sorts of water, and even turning herself into water for limited amount of times, using it to move, from place to place. The next mutant they find, is a boy that goes by Circuit. His powers were quickly revealed to be the powers to manipulate, absorb, and even temporarily to become the lightning, as well as electrical energy that he absorbs and then uses to power himself up. He is also said to be able to completely destroy metal and things made of metal if he pushes enough electrical energy through it, causing it to explode in response. The last of the three, is perhaps, the most dangerous mutant of them all. With telekinetic abilities to rival that of Charles Xavier, the girl who now goes by Second she would be a very good and very useful ally to their cause... if only they could get her to stop speaking through images in their heads. She insists with images on being called Second but they choose to all call her Instinct instead. Charles understands them all since he knows from searching through their minds, that they have, quite all of them, been through hell in their young lives. When the time comes to fight for what they all need to know that they believe in the three mutants all are to choose. Do they stay continuing to lock themselves away and only conversing with each other and on certain occasions, someone else? Or will they learn to see the world like the others do, and learn to see that not everyone who is in the new world now, isn't just like the others who sought to all destroy it before? WARNING: THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN WHEN I WAS YOUNG, IT IS VERY INCONSISTENT AND I DONT RECCOMEND READING IT FOR A GOOD READ. I run into the room, I see a girl with tangled curls and blood everywhere around her, she looked like a skeleton with a thin layer of skin on it, but she had the most beautiful eyes, grey, but they were dull, almost as if she were dead. I looked to the man who seemed to be beating her, and realized I needed to get her to safety, as Xavier told me. Raven had given me special instructions on what to do and they were both waiting for me outside. The girl looked to me, confusion built on her face. I was confused too, she could see me? Now was not the time to think about this I could see she was gushing blood, and she needed help, fast. I quickly broke the chain connecting her to the wall. And scooped her up, her blood smeared on my clothes. I held her tight to my chest, I could feel her fear of me and what was happening, but how? No one should be able to see me when I'm running. I looked down to her. Her frail body was light, too light, her eyes stared at me. "Help me..." she said squeezing my shirt and jacket in her bloody hands. She fell unconscious her head laying in my chest which I felt was quite comfortable. I regripped my hand under her legs and ran through the maze of hallways to get out. I felt protective of this girl I was holding, yet I've never even met her... Gray Cannon Thorne and her twin brother, Rein Chester Thorne, are different. Every time they sleep there eyes change. If one wakes up with black iris's the other wakes up with white. On a good normal day they will both wake up with one eye black and the other white. With every eye color comes different problems. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
