"She was nothing but a whisper. A runner that went from place to place, only just trying to survive on her own. No one knew who she was there were only just whispers of her, floating around the camp until one day, it changed." Erik was explaining, as he looked around at the group.

"What changed?" Charles sounded immensely interested and Erik looked over at him with a slight smirk on his face.

"I found her."

And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. But in this underlying world of Adepts, Demons and secrets within secrets, unlocking their potential will be harder than you think. ~^~^~^~^~^ So, this is my 2014 Nanowrimo story, which is basically an attempt to rewrite Phoenix, where it shall go through major changes in plot, characters as well as effects of my new-and-improved writing style. Faith Carter wasn't your average 17 year old girl living in Westchester New York...on the outside she looked to be any average, timid, shy girl who goes to a boarding school, but the truth is, she's a mutant with special abilities. The ability to control plant life aka Plant Manipulation. Faith doesn't know how or why she got the powers, but when she was just 10 years old, she was able to bring dead plants come to life just by singing a song. So suddenly excited by the ability told her grandparents who thought nothing of it because it was an innocent gift contact Charles Xavier and enrolled her in his school. However, Faith doesn't believe that her powers are any good. She's very insecure about not only herself but her abilities. She's shy and has no friends and does get bullied for the ability. Growing up Faith didn't really have a good childhood, her parents worked a lot so they weren't really around to take care of her so Faith lived with her grandparents who loved her to death... But when she was just 14, they had passed away and it left Faith depressed because she never got to say goodbye so she re-reads all their letters and just cries... Now being 17, life hasn't gotten any better. She still has no friends, is still getting bullied in which no one can do anything about and her powers have yet to improve...but what happens when she meets a certain speedster who turns her life around? What happens next?

When Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr go looking for other mutants, in a great effort, to stop the world from going into a third world war, they are surprised by who they find. The first of the three that were found last is a girl who goes by the street name of a Dive, who was soon revealed by Charles without a protest from her, to be able to manipulate all sorts of water, and even turning herself into water for limited amount of times, using it to move, from place to place. The next mutant they find, is a boy that goes by Circuit. His powers were quickly revealed to be the powers to manipulate, absorb, and even temporarily to become the lightning, as well as electrical energy that he absorbs and then uses to power himself up. He is also said to be able to completely destroy metal and things made of metal if he pushes enough electrical energy through it, causing it to explode in response. The last of the three, is perhaps, the most dangerous mutant of them all. With telekinetic abilities to rival that of Charles Xavier, the girl who now goes by Second she would be a very good and very useful ally to their cause... if only they could get her to stop speaking through images in their heads. She insists with images on being called Second but they choose to all call her Instinct instead. Charles understands them all since he knows from searching through their minds, that they have, quite all of them, been through hell in their young lives. When the time comes to fight for what they all need to know that they believe in the three mutants all are to choose. Do they stay continuing to lock themselves away and only conversing with each other and on certain occasions, someone else? Or will they learn to see the world like the others do, and learn to see that not everyone who is in the new world now, isn't just like the others who sought to all destroy it before?
