But no, none of those add up to the real reason why. The REAL reason why is Macaques scared of telling Wukong he loves him and wants to spend his whole life with him. He fears that the great sage with make fun of him for it and use it against him knowing that Macaque had a soft spot for him. He knows what happened in the past when he loved Wukong, he died. He was betrayed and left for dead by his dear lover. Wukong would never like Macaque and that just proved it. He didn't want to repeat the past, he didn't want to look like a loving, helpless idoit. He never wanted to fall in love with Wukong again but everything about that peach eating idoit made Macaques cheeks flush and his stomach swist. He hated himself for liking such a person but in the end there was nothing he could do about it. No matter how hard he tryed, He was still deeply head over heels in love with Wukong But little did Macaque know that this affected Wukong badly, Really Really Bad.
