"This is a good chance for you to do surfing again" Elizabeth's mom said as they got to their new house. Elizabeth had loved to surf when she was 10 and something happened that made her stop. She had told her mom that it just wasn't for her anymore, but the truth was she even more then that. 6 years later she is still holding on to it and making sure no one finds out...because if they do it most likely won't end well for her. When she meets a group of girls, they seem to be a little strange. Well in a secretive type of way... When she continues to hang out with them they seem to not be so welcoming of her. Although she does the same she finds it oddly strange they avoid water at all costs....Are they keeping as big as a secret as her? When they join forces will they be able to control themselves or get out of hand?

** BARNES AND NOBLE TEEN SELECTION 2015 - TOP 7 YA's THAT WILL LEAVE YOU TERRIFIED OF THE OCEAN ** "Dawson's Creek meets Jaws and The Goonies in a twisted, supernatural tale unlike anything I've ever read. I am totally addicted!" - ARC reviewer SUMMARY: Eila Walker knows luck is not a friend, so she is downright shocked to inherit a million-dollar Cape Cod home. And yeah, her new town isn't perfect: the cheerleaders are heinous clones, the local undertow can kill ya, and her Great Grams was supposedly fried by lightning in the harbor square. Still, Eila is hopeful her luckless days are in the past . . . until history decides to repeat itself. When Raef O'Reilly becomes her friendly, yet weirdly protective shadow, Eila thinks life is pretty darn perfect - until she is hauled beneath the waves by an unnatural undertow. Revealing coal-black eyes and iron-like strength as he rescues her, Raef can no longer hide what he is . . . or what she can do. Eila, last of her kind, can supposedly channel the power of human souls, while Raef is more adept at stealing them. Even worse, the legend about her ancestor isn't such a myth, since Eila's grandmother was one kick-butt warrior until her lightning-like power backfired. A power that is written all over Eila's DNA. Determined to stay one step ahead of a dangerous clan that is hunting her, Raef, along with three unlikely allies, will do all they can to protect her. But as hidden pieces of their brutal histories unravel, Eila begins to understand just what went down in the harbor square. She soon realizes that following in her grandmother's fearless footsteps may be the only way to save those she loves . . . including Raef.

But when their youngest daughter gets reaped, they have to reveal their secrets. For the Gallagher's children aren't only talented surfers, but also trained killing machines. This is the second book from Atticus! ••••••••••••••• If you lost the ability to do what you loved the most, what would you do? Give up? Keep trying? Every time Holly tries to climb on her surfboard, she hopes that her balance will magically return. It doesn't. When she falls, it isn't the waves beating her up after that gives her chills. It's whatever is watching her in the water. Holly grew up listening to the stories about sea monsters and half human devils. A part of her always accepted the possibility of the legends being real. That part of her comes to life when her small seaside town starts to change. It always feels like someone or something is watching her whether she is in the water or on land. Maybe it has to do with that handsome stranger she keeps seeing. Every night she watches him go for a night swim but never resurface. As the clouding mystery surrounding this man thickens, Holly decides to do the only thing her mind and heart is allowing her to do. Solve the mystery of this stranger and confront him. ••••••••••• This can be a stand alone book, but if you want the excitement and to understand some of the mystery, I recommend reading Atticus first.
