a short story that fits within my bigger play, "Purple Knuckles", also available on Wattpad.  i used this story to practice how to write monologues and soliloquys. i've been meaning to write this short story for years, but it amounted to something much more, which was why I had to write "Purple Knuckles" as well. three nights in october -- one in 2017, another in 2019, and another in 2020 -- motivated these words.All Rights Reserved
