I'm looking for an artist to join me as a creative partner in developing this limited-series comic, "Season Of Destruction".

I've drawn the first issue myself - you'll quickly see I'm not a professional artist by any stretch, but I wanted to have a promotional draft to show a prospective partner - something more dynamic than a black-and-white script.

Think of this as a very creepy mood board dipped in blood.

My reinvention of the vampire genre isn't a fun or tongue-in-cheek treatment - the principal figures in my story are murderers.  They behave as such, and that menas this is a disturbing story.  It's hard to find someone who can stomach my portrayal of a cult that worships Death.

What follows in this publication is a synopsis and story notes.  Sketches and other materials will be added.

Note:  I conceived this story in 2000, and drafted the first issue as a comic in 2011.  At that time I thought my pre-apocalyptic setting of global turmoil, global warming and wildfires, disease and famine, were a long way off, and I wasn't sure where exactly in time to set my story.  It's a bit terrifying to see the world I imagined for this story in 2000 is right outside my window in 2021.All Rights Reserved

Moonspell (1) Werewolf Romance by Jinx-01

Erik's mate, Katharina, died eighty years ago. Werewolf mates are for life; there are no break-ups or second chances. On the night of the Blood Moon, an event that takes place once every hundred years, the Moon Goddess descends to earth and decides to grant Erik a wish, a once-in-a-lifetime exception to the rule. But gods are generally wicked, and the wish comes with complicated consequences, like a rose with many thorns. The new mate would be one human, ignorant to all their rules and costumes, even to their existence. She will embody the hope of all mateless wolves to not spend their life alone and will attract any werewolf almost hypnotically and pathologically until she is finally claimed by somebody on the night of the Blue Moon. Erik is haunted by guilt and pledges to protect her till the Blue Moon is over, even against himself and against her own will... * Part of the idea of this story was contained in a contest here on Wattpad (Golden Writer contest). Unfortunately it got canceled and the girl (Tricia DS) deleted her profile, but the story stuck into my mind for a while so I decided to write it down in the end. What I kept of the original idea plot: 1.The fact that the original mate died and that second chances are given once a decade. 2.The new mate can be only human. 3. Multiple werewolves will feel attracted to her. 4. He will kidnap her at some point in the story. Hereby I am giving credit for the idea. All the rest belongs to me, should not be copied and bla, bla, it is a work of fiction and should be viewed as such. As I know myself it will contain violence and mature stuff so be aware. Artwork from the images is mine unless stated otherwise. The story is a slow burn so the romance will develop slowly, to set correct expectations. If you get to the second book that one is more smutty :D.

A thousand years past, the world was run by humankind. But it changed, when countries became embroiled in a war that gave the werewolves the opportunity, to recreate the earth in their own image. Now humans are the lowest on the food chain, little more than animals to the hellish overlords. Now the humans hide in the forests and mountains, while the werewolves live in the elegance of the great prosperous walled cities. Clothed in luxury, while their counterparts starve in the wilderness. A truth that can't be denied by Nyx, the scarred and gifted daughter of a village shaman. Living in the forests of the once great Northeast of North America. Days are long and hard for her village, scraping bye for game and medicinal plants. Praying for salvation, from the iron hand of the werewolves that rule them all. Alpha Evander has grown desperate to help his pack. The Howlers of the Silver City, have seen a decrease in population for decades. The only solution, is to find more mates, and humans have been revealed to be a match for the monsters. Foretold by the Great Priestess of the Moon, an omen of doom for all free humans left in the wild wood. Through fate, Nyx will come across the wolfen brute. By blood, she will defend her people from this formidable horde. With courage, she will face off against destiny, loss, and unwanted love. All while Evander, plots to break the humans' pride. The following story is the result of a game I played with a fellow writer, a fan of Fantasy and Manga. Basically, I offered to email him the beginning of a story. He would write the next part and send it back to me. I would write the next part, send it, and so on. But he didn't have enough time to take part in this little game. I then suggested that we write a story in the form of a serial and send the parts to each other by e-mail, once a week, for two months. My plan was to turn it into a summer mini-series. Caught up in the story, this attempt lasted through autumn, and winter, and was finished in spring. So, my first thanks go to you, Jeremy. I'd also like to thank the most diligent critic of my writing: Renault. Your corrections and comments were very relevant and were a great help. I hope that I will, at long last, be able to buy you a drink and discuss it with you face to face. As we haven't seen each other for more than five years, we probably won't even recognise one another anymore. Through my writing I have had the privilege of meeting a lot of different people, from all walks of life, but mostly waiters and waitresses in the (far too) numerous Brussels cafés, Exki, Pain Quotidien, and others, where I write, as well as the hotel staff in the Novotel, where I was living. I thank all of you for your kindness and the interest you showed in my stories. Writing is a solitary process, but has its rewards. I Commenced My Descent by thomasiota

This is a significantly altered version of H. P. Lovecraft's horror story "The Alchemist." The original was written in 1908, and so is, as of 2020, well within the public domain. The text was taken in 2020 from this URL: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Alchemist_(Lovecraft) and modified by Wil Wroge (another pseudonym of Thomas Iota) as a response to a writing challenge issued by claytemplemedia.com I always enjoyed "The Alchemist" but did not consider it critically until Clay Temple Media made it the focus of one of their episodes of The Elder Sign podcast. Among other valid criticisms, the hosts suggested that Antoine, the protagonist, lacked agency, the supporting character Pierre was unsympathetic and illogical, and the antagonist was too easily overcome. So, I accepted this as a writing challenge. I've replaced Pierre with Agace (whom I hope is more sympathetic), given Antoine a much broader character arc, and made the antagonist, setting, and overall tone noticeably darker. I kept as much of the original text as possible, but I altered many sequences and added content freely in hopes of expanding the original enough to give the characters more interaction. I did my best to mimic the density of Lovecraft's diction and style in plot and setting revelations, but attempted also to add some of my own action and suspense into the climax. A warning to parents: there is significantly more violence in this story than in Lovecraft's original. The cover is an image from the public domain, taken from the book "Old and New London" by Walter Thornbury published circa 1887.

A short story prompt for a writing club I'm in I had a month to write it and a 12.5k word limit! It deserves to be longer so I probably should have done something that works well with the limit, but I had a really fun time writing out a concept start for this larger story I'm working on :) Again, this is a concept story! it has it's flaws, I look forward to rewriting it sometime in the future :) The story will explain things somewhat as you read through, but if you would like, here is a setting synopsis: At the end of the 21st century humanity fell to a incurable blight, the Blood Curse, and civilization as it was known collapsed with it. It was only through the biological properties of vampires, whom have existed as long as humans, that humanity could safely stave off the curse. One thousand years later, humanity and vampires have grown together through this mutual need, human's needing their curses to be sated, Vampires needing human blood for sustenance. A once tumultuous relationship of predator and prey now was one of equal standing and reverence. Not all human's have taken kindly to this new order of things however, and societies do exist that reject vampires and dangerously brave the curse on their own. In recent years these human's have become more brave and more daring, and in an ambush on Wyatt's village, Karva the town vampire has been injured and cannot satiate the curse for a time, right when a young child, Kuuno, is in dire need of it. Wyatt, a fledgling vampire yet to conquer their thirst for blood, Yeshen a doctor's apprentice, and Kuuno, the young child, venture out into the woods set for the nearest village and it's vampire to save the young boy. In this thick forest and uncertain times, what will they discover, and will they make it to their destination safely?

Life was dull, boring, and mechanical. I’ve always wondered if this would change. If something interesting will happen. I always hoped something interesting will happen. A falling meteor that would destroy half of town, an alien invasion, or even the Apocalypse. Anything, just to relieve me of this monotonous life I lead. “Urgh,” I groaned as I reached over to turn off the alarm clock that sounded like a hundred sirens in the early hours of dawn. The golden sun hasn’t come out to expel the surrounding darkness yet. I figured it would take an hour more or so for the sun to show its shining face, so I decided to eat breakfast and take a bath first. But little did I know that today was the day that my life would change. It was the day I met her. ---------- A short story. Hey guys! This is my first try writing a pure romance story. I hope you'll like it. :D This story will be rarely updated, since I'm busy with school and stuff. So, sorry in advance. ~Just Perfect EDIT: As of 03/29/14 (arranged in this order: dd/mm/yy), this story has deviated from its original "pure romance," into something worth delving deeper into. Quite interesting. And because of this... "something worth delving deeper into," I have decided to continue the story with a PART TWO! Though that will have to wait until after Exile.
