Deities don't follow the same rules as you and I. We are mortal beings, some immortal, but still human in some sense. We follow the timeline as it flows, following to every key point in history and abiding nature's rules. But deities, deities don't adhere to the same rules we do. Deities are above gods, above nature. Deities are dangerous, unpredictable, and most of all, they know of our existence. For the sake of the multiverse, we must contain them. We must dedicate our lives to learning everything we can about them, following them, and protecting the world and people in it from them.

After the Waves devastated the Earth, modern society collapsed. Governments didn't know what to do, and much of the world's treaties and society's pre-imposed rules went out the window. A survival for the fittest. For Tommy, his life of gaming for hours on end was disrupted, and he couldn't go back.
