THE WEDDING DAY
HER VOW
"There's a very thin line between love and hate and I fell for both. You can't blame me I'm chubby" she said. In the sweetest of voices I've ever heard, sending a cloud of laughter hovering around the crowd. "No amount of vows can actually describe my love for you. Nonso, I love you with my whole being. My soul, my body and my spirit." She says. I can feel her crying, I know she's crying. "On Wednesday, I called you my half husband. Congratulations! Because today, I announce you as my full husband." She says, her voice deeped in a pool of excitement as everyone claps in jubilation. "Nonso, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, you are mine." She ended slipping the ring into my wedding finger.
MY VOW
"Growing up, I was taught that only God and His works are perfect. But right now and right here, I'll say your vow has been included in the list of perfect. Edikan, mmu ma fien ye efid esit mmi, mkpó domoked ikemedi swunna ima nyien. (Edikan, I love you with all of my heart, nothing at all can scatter our love)." I ended.
I could see her eyes lit in ways I can't explain through the light transparent veil she wore on her face. I could see them bring forth tears. Tears of joy. Her people should definitely know what I'm saying. But my people, I don't know. "Inemesit mmi (my happiness), in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, afo do Owo mmi (you are mine)." I ended slipping the ring into her wedding finger.
"You may now kiss" the officiate said. I unveiled her and we gave each other a nose kiss.
My Babe And I has a combo of Drama, Wedding, Romance, Laughter, as it entangles with Edikan and Nonso.
