Dream was always told by Lanny, the guardian of magic, that his brother was dead, that he would never come back, and that "thing" was nothing more than his enemy.

It took him a while to accept the fact that Nightmare was gone, but with some time, he let go of the past and became more mature. He was the embodiment of positivity, the last hopes of the multiverse.

But what if what Lanny said was actually incorrect? What if the Nightmare that Dream had once known was still there?
