Esmereld Payne, the leader of Renascent, has many enemies for simply being a female. After suffering with the tragic death of her brother and the heartbreak from her first love, she has picked herself up and has turned her gang into the most powerful and feared in the world.
As for Harry Styles, the leader of Inprobus, his regrets and agony still haunt him every second of every day. He refuses to forget the one woman who had the capability to change his mindset, his life, his world.
After having both of their gangs threatened, both Harry and Esme realize they seem to have a common enemy going to extreme lengths to have them dead. They must team up in an alliance to put these menaces in their place, despite their rocky past.
Will Harry and Esme be able to push their feelings for each other to the side or will their relationship be the one thing to cause their downfall?

With my fists tightened, tears falling down my face from frustration, and my anger at an all time high, I spin my body around to face Harry, unable to bottle up my emotions any longer.
"Harry, you need to get one thing straight," I seethe to him. "I am no longer the weak girl you once met. I have been running this fucking gang for two years now and if my men and women are fighting, so am I."
Suddenly, Harry steps up towards me and grasps my arms tightly to make me look right up at him. I burn my gaze right into those deep emerald eyes, not standing down.
"Esme, I understand you aren't that girl anymore, but, I'm not going to have you in a situation that can get you killed," Harry says in desperation towards me, his glossy eyes filled with agony and urgency.
"I lost you once, I can't lose you again."

Violet Bennett lives under the weight of a name she barely understands. Surrounded by secrets and lies, she's trained to survive. But when the lines between real and fake blur, Violet begins to realize that nothing in her world is as it seems. Every truth is layered in deception, and protection always comes at a cost. Sometimes that cost is your voice. Sometimes it's your freedom. And sometimes it's your heart.
Always nearby is Harry Styles, mysterious, sharp, cold and a constant reminder that danger is closer than she thinks. Covered in tattoos and silence, he watches like he knows something she doesn't. And naybe he does.
There's something between them. She feels it in the silence, in the way his anger feels personal, in the quiet moments that say more than words ever could. But love, if that's what this is, has no place in a world built on secrets. And falling for someone like him might mean losing everything.
Because in this world, love isn't soft.
It's a weapon.
And Violet is already in the crossfire.

"You shouldn't smoke."
The voice cut through me before I even processed it. I spun around instinctively, heart racing.
And there he was.
I blinked. "Holy shit. You scared me."
He didn't move. Didn't even flinch. "Didn't know I had to announce myself."
"How long have you been up here?"
He looked away, back out over the skyline. "A while."
"You're always hiding," I muttered.
"And you always follow."
