This isn't what friends do
Coming out must be hard but only doing so because you can no longer hide your feelings for your bestfriend is unimaginable. A story about falling in love after a long time coming... * "I'm jealous? I'm controlling? You couldn't even let a guy touch me in there without pushing them away. You're not so innocent yourself Brandon. Don't look at me like that." He caught my chin forcing my eyes up to his again. "Or what?" I asked my voice shaking. I don't know what he was trying to say but it was all true. My breath came out jittery, staggered and just like that he was pressing his lips into mine with such pressure. I didn't move for a second too scared what the hell this was. I couldn't even think, did I want to kiss him back? Did I like this? I was staring wide eyed in shock at him still his eyes open to as he stayed perfectly still neither one of us moving. ✗ "I'm sorry," I choked, the tears spilling down my cheeks. He shook his head and pulled me closer again. "Don't be sorry, just work on getting better," He said, rubbing calming circles on my back while I cried into his chest. His arms tightened around me and he pressed his lips against the top of my head, making me cry even harder. "I had never meant to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be good enough," I whispered. The guilt weighing heavy on my shoulders. "Briar," He said quietly, "You're so much more than good enough." ✗ Meet Briar Martin. Why me? I'm not even worth it." "You looked so lonely. So sad, so hidden. You looked like you were so used to being silent. But I knew there was more to it than what meets the eye. I wanted to decode the mystery." He looked deep into her eyes. "So what do you want?" She held his gaze, even though she hated eye contact. He smiled softly and sang, "All I wanna be, all I ever wanna be, is somebody to you." ________________________________________________ Darkness and shadows were all she ever saw. She lived in silence, her whole world a monochromatic display that only she could see. Her red rimmed glasses only made clearer her strife and the elastic band on her left wrist reminded her of her long lived sorrow. She hid from the world, going unnoticed by everyone, slowly crumbling to dust on her own. That was all until one faithful day when someone did the unthinkable and decided that she was worth noticing. She was the girl in the grey hoodie. And he was someone who cared.
