We walk into the conference room,
and i feel the room oozing with male testosterone, as i join the six men already in their seats.
I walk with Silas to a couple of empty chairs, and make myself comfortable.
Then two more people walk into the room after us, and it appears it's who everyone was waiting for, because the room instantly quiets down.
I look more closely at them and my heart nearly beats out of my chest, when i recognize one of them.....Marco.
I have to do a double take, just to make sure I am seeing right, and this time.....our eyes make eye contact as he sits down, and I swear, I see his lips twitch a little.
My mouth goes dry, and my ears start ringing.
It's him again!
Fate is clearly playing a dirty little game with me.
Suddenly, it feels like the room is shrinking in size, and we are the only two people in here, because I swear, i can feel his gaze on me.
But I choose to focus on the tablet on the table reflecting the agenda instead, and the someone starts updating the information, as the meeting progresses.
"Marco, what do you think?" someone asks, and interested, i follow everyone's line of sight to him.
Suddenly it dawns on me.
I look down at the screen again, and swipe to the list of attendees, and read his name in full.
Marco Bishop.
Wait, 'Marco Bishop?' as in 'Bishop', the name that is displayed in bold letters on the front of this multi story building?
I look up and find that he is no longer talking, but looking at me with a satisfied and proud look on his face, as if he can read my mind.
Shit!

"I hope you remember what I said, Atlas," he said. He went back to his firm tone of voice now that we were alone.
He glanced up at me as he packed three pairs of jeans into the bag. I was too busy trying to figure out how the hell I had three brothers who suddenly wanted custody of me after all these years of me being in foster care that I didn't even remember what Mr. Harris had told me last night, but it clicked. He had told me those things because he knew that I was leaving him today.
"You will never be loved by them if they find out what you are, what you've done. And if they do find out, I'm sure they'll send you right back here to me where you belong," he said calmly as he placed the rest of my turtlenecks next to the jeans and lastly put in a coat.
He zipped the bag that he had apparently finished packing for me and I looked around the room.
"Let's go," he said firmly holding the bag in his hand as he walked out of my room.
I didn't know if I should be happy or scared to be leaving Mr. Harris. I never imagined that I would be leaving him. Ever. He had told me last year on my birthday that he was going to marry me when I turned 18 and aged out of the system.
