There was an old old lady who searched for souls. She lived in the forests and whenever she saw someone alone in the woods she would take their soul. To take souls she had to grab their arm then give them a poison shot to kill them then she uses this weapon that sucks the person's soul out and puts them in this jar. She take souls because she uses them to keep her still living, she is 158 years old right now, you can tell how long she has been taking souls. Now is where the story starts. One day the old lady was on her porch then someone walked up to her and said "excuse me ma'am can you give me some directions?" then the lady took the young boy's soul. After she took his soul she dragged his body back to the main road and just laid him on the sidewalk when no one was around. That night she took 5 more souls and made this one big soul that would last her awhile, she was old and tired of taking people's souls all the time so she is taking a break.

They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. Many years have passed since the war between the humans and monsters. The humans won, and shut the monsters in a place called the underground. Keeping them there with a magical barrier, it took seven usable souls to shatter the barrier, but being monsters, their souls didn't work. Instead, they had to use human souls to break the barrier, and even then, humans were not likely to fall in. Because the human waste system ends up in the underground, the monsters are informed of what's going on up on the surface, and have developed human-like lifestyles, which included scholarship, friendships and the like, but it seemed, that the monsters were eager to get back on the surface again. Six humans were unlucky enough to fall into the underground, and the leader of the monsters, Asgore Dreemurr killed these humans to use their souls for removing the barrier. Asgore thought that those humans were the only ones that would fall in, but he was wrong. Two more humans fell in, but their souls were lost before Asgore could even use them, and those soulless ghosts were doomed to haunt the underground.
