Why do people fall in love if they will eventually end up hurt?

Lilith Jade Mendes has never been in love and doubt she ever will. Her parents are proof that all good things end and someone always ends up hurt. She has to get through college and graduate.

He's sitting on the couch, book forgotten. He shrugs, big eyes making me feel bad for leaving him.

Ugh.

He can't look at me like that.

I turn around and walk to the direction of my room, "Come on Markey, you're already too big for the couch. Can't risk you having back problems can we?"

I waddle to my bed, blanket wrapped around me and all. I sigh happily as I collapse onto my bed.

Atlas lays down next to me.

"Jade, you're taking all the blankets."

"Sounds like a you problem."
