Luz has went to camp and when she came back she didn't act any different, she still didn't get one friend so her mother (Camila) changed. She got aggressive/abusive with Luz and school doesn't help, the second day of school comes and before Luz leaves she runs away and finds a house. Luz runs into it and turns out it took her to the boiling isles. But Luz has changed, she was mean, quiet, hostile and had mad trust and anger issues she also developed Hemophobia (fear of blood) and Traumatophobia (fear of having an injury). When joining Hexside the girls there were mean and harsh like the kids at her human school, but Luz learned how to stick her ground there at her human school. Luz would stand her ground and be mean to literally everyone that got in her way. Her complicated feelings for Amity Blight, a top student at Hexside, only add to her confusion. Amity's cold, aloof demeanor irks Luz. Will she ever truly understand what lies beneath Amity's perfect exterior? Will she ever fit in? Who is that mysterious figure? What will it do? Keep reading to find out! Striking a deal with the devil probably wasn't smart... When Hexside High School's newest transfer student, Luz Noceda, runs into trouble on her first day at a new school, she does the best thing she can think of; Make a bet. All Luz has to do is beat Amity Blight's score on the semester exams. Amity just happens to be the top student. And exams are in a week. It'll be a breeze.. hopefully, because Luz's admittance to Hexside is riding on this bet. But, there's always a little good in the bad, and maybe striking a deal with the devil was a good idea..
