What if Stevie returned from Aspen in 1974 and actually took her parents up on their offer to come home to Arizona and go back to school...and she'd given up on her music career...and on her tumultuous relationship with Lindsey? In an alternate holiday season of 2023, Lindsey Buckingham finds himself recently widowed and traveling to Phoenix, Arizona to spend the holidays with his grown children and his grandchildren, and one of the family festivities is to go to the local high school to watch his granddaughter perform at her holiday music showcase...led by her absolute favorite teacher and leader of the music and theater department, who is retiring at the end of the year after a 50-year teaching career...Stevie Nicks. Will a chance meeting of two old musical partners and lovers over the holidays lead to a great conversation in which they catch up on each other's lives...or will they realize that 50 years without each other has been 50 years too many?

This story revolves around Fleetwood Mac during the era of Rumours and beyond. However, it does not tell the story of Stevie Nicks shooting daggers with her eyes across the stage to her former lover Lindsey Buckingham it focuses on the second couple sharing the stage with them. This story focuses on Christine and John McVie. As we all know their marriage was very much in debris by 1975 and eventually ended in divorce in 1978. My little fic here is all about 'What if not?' What if they had found a way to pull themselves together and made it work, continuing to stay the couple they never could be? This story also brings forth a character that could be all of us, and you might find a little bit of yourself in her. This story is obviously based on real life human beings that actually existed and still exist. This story however, although based on true events, is purely fictitious. While I did try my best to stay true to the real life characteristics of the people I'm writing about all the events described here have been conjured up by me and are not in any way real. Some characters in this story are not real either and purely a figment of my imagination. I hope you enjoy this little fic about a very underrated couple that I feel is deserving of more recognition, as it is my opinion, that the bond they shared was far greater than they ever let us believe. {side note: English isn't my first language so apologies if some things sound strange}
