It is the year 1898, and nineteen year old Lucia leaves her hometown in Spain after the war. With her mother and her sister she moves to the city of Deauville in France. Lucia has a passion for art and books, but society's views on a girl her age taking literature as a career is not acceptable, so she secretly learns more about writing. Her plans get altered though, when she bumps into a stranger, a boy who happens to work at the library she goes to.
