Hiccup Haddock wasn't always an only child, what if he had a sister who died at aged 9 in a fire accident. 

But happens if she didn't die, but was sent to live as a dragon by the gods to help guide her brother. But in hopes of helping her adapt to being a dragon, she is reversed in age by 2 years and she is paired with the last Nightfury of the world. A dragon who becomes a brother to Starlight, or Moon as her dragon names gives.
