Katuki was overwhelmed and unable to properly maintain a clear mind as the days in his castle grew more chaotic. He married a woman he didn't love and was certain he never will, had a war hanging over his head ready to drop on his shoulders, and a sudden plague that affected nothing but their food supplies. He inevitably fell victim to his thoughts when Masaru, The Emperor King of their Empire, was said to have been the only person for the plague to infect him. 

A prophecy speaks about a voyage he alone must take to find an antidote with a warning that he is to die in the hands of the one he falls in love with. He heeds no mind to it and would do anything in his power to save his Empire. 

 But a no-named boy with forest hair tagged along his journey of salvation.
