The start of this dystopian novel was written for a contest. Chapters 1 to 15 were submitted, please enjoy reading, and this will be added to and become a full novel.

Alex has lived in The Institution all her life. It's the only place she's ever known. Nobody knows what's outside of its borders, and nobody really cares. Nobody's ever wondered if there's more to life than this for a very long time. But Alex is different. Alex is shown the truth of life beyond what she's been told. Together she bands with the resistors, people who have rejected the rigid systems of the institution, and broken free. They live outside the borders, outside the laws and rules. Outside the Procedure. They are free, and they are powerful. Perhaps they can help her escape and master her own power... Stronger than 1 but she doesn't turn into a giant monkey. She has better accuracy than 2.... Somehow.... But her weapon of choice would've bee a bow and arrow. She has 3's same power but she doesn't like to use it except to get what she wants and her sister's doesn't work on her. She can transform like 6 could. She can see him like 4. The only other one that can. He was always afraid of his power drowns it out by getting high. But they were kind of her only friends minus her brother and their more dangerous sister. 5 and her liked to race each other the only difference is, is that as smart as he is she's a better jumper. But she has the most in common with 7. They're both seen as too dangerous and her powers like her sister's are awaken and work because of their emotions. She's more dangerous though because she can mirror her siblings powers. She trained herself her dad never cared about her. He always cared about his non biological children more. And he only cared enough about them to train them but he didn't care about any of them. She was born the same day they were and the same age. She wasn't born the same way though. It was more like a science experiment. He gave a serum to get the one person he trusted to have her and made it timed to the day. Maybe that's why she has their same powers or why she's more dangerous. The only thing that ever worked on her was.... I'll tell you later. But none of them remember she has powers.

Getting that out of the way, let's go onto the story description... *This book contains explicit content* *EXTRACT FROM THE BOOK* I stared at him, cooking and whistling, something that I could not do, or should I say, wasn't bothered to do. I decided to move away and to try and find an exit but I didn't even take one step back when I heard his voice. "Princess? Is that you?" I saw him raise his head before shooting his eyes onto me. The sudden gaze caused to heart to race while it froze my body as if I have turned into ice. I felt the fear engulf my body, eating me inside out. "You aren't scared of me... Are you?" he asked me, I sensed the envy in his voice. That mixed with his harsh tone caused a wave of goosebumps to course through my body. I wanted to begin by asking him where was I? Why was I here? Why was he here... I wanted to ask him, but I couldn't, the fear was just all too much for me. "Come on... Speak to me... Ask me..." he began. "Ask me 'why am I here' and all of that crap... Entertain me with your fear." I saw him slowly gripping a knife that was on the countertop, with his eyes still on mine. The sides of his mouth slowly began tilting upwards. All the bitterness and the cold, it was all so visible in his eyes. I looked at him in horror, noticing him as he took his first steps towards me. "Talk to me... Because this might be the only time you will ever be able to talk, " he said this sentence in such a calm tone, it caused me once again to shiver with goosebumps. "W-what do you mean...". Never in my life have I stuttered, until then.

He walked slowly towards her while she walked backward. "Desperate? Arrogant? Am I?" he said in a very deep voice. She felt her voice had gone to hell. She was trying to speak but no sound, just words. "I think you have not seen how desperate I can be" he brought his lips near to her ear and said in a whisper. He grabs her and put her on his shoulder. She felt his shoulder blades pinned hardly on her left rib. Warning: The spelling and grammar are bad but I'll try to edit it once the book is completed. My eyes stared at his forest green eyes which was making me more weak emotionally and physically what I was already before. My heart was hammering in an insane way as if in some few moments I was going to have a heart attack. He pressed his hard muscular body against mine, dipping his head on my shoulder while sniffing my hair like some wild animal. "Yes my Anna, you did what I wanted but one thing is still left." His voice was smooth like butter but the sensation that he released with that husky tone could drive anyone crazy. "What?" I whispered, I was scared to even make a noise. "It's you Anna. It's you." But despite having a degree in hands she was still jobless. When life was giving her bitter test then when a devil showed up at the door of her heart, dressed like an angel.
