Everyone in the world experiences pain of some sort almost on the daily. Whether it's a paper cut, or a broken heart, the Oracle feels everything. They make it so wounds can heal and no one has to feel alone. 

Odin happens to hate the Oracle though. Because even 5 years after he loses his parents, he still feels sorrow and a hole in his heart. He feels abandoned and all alone. That is until Odin meets the Oracle himself. He then finally learns the true role that the Oracle plays.
