Company at Rock Bottom

"I dream about you," he confesses against her ear, rough fingertips tracing her delicate collar bone from behind. "Every single goddamn night. Your eyes. Your lips." His voice has that enthralling raspy quality that's so attractive when he sings. His hand dances lower down the center of her chest, above her stuttering heart. "Your skin, so soft and expensive." His other hand sweeps her hair away from her neck and then suddenly curls around the front of her throat. Adra gasps, forced to tip her head back and lean further into him. "And then I have to wake up and spend the whole day looking at you instead of touching you."

Kyro Pearson, lead singer in a band rising to fame, pauses his traveling to finally make his way back home. But things have changed in the last two years. His childhood bedroom is being occupied by a girl he hardly recognizes and his relationships with family are more strained than ever.

Andromeda Lovell is crumbling from the inside out. All of her coping mechanisms are self-destructive and she can't picture a future that'd be any better than the present. Her frustration is further ignited when her best friend's older brother rides into town, oblivious to the damage he's caused.
