Mr and Mrs Loup wanted a boy to help in the house but then they got a girl instead. When Charlie was three years old she moved to live with Alice and Andy who lived on the farm and had lots of animals including three dogs, Frankie, Wolf and Buddy. When Andy and Alice died in a car accident  when she was 11 she had to move to Mrs and Mr Young, but she couldn't part with her dogs so she took them with her. Mr and Mrs Young had five children and sent Charlie to school, she had never been to school, but luckily she had taught herself how to read and write  with the help of Alice and taught herself to do math with the help of Andy, but the work was not the hard thing, people bullied her but she found two new friends. Alice and Chloe. But when a bomb was set off at school there was a war and no one could be trusted
