Carmen Inés Santos lives as an immigrant in Brooklyn, New York, before Work War Ⅱ. Despite her daily struggles with a prejudiced society, she can always count on her childhood friends Steve Rogers and James "Bucky" Barnes as support through the good and the bad. And as a matter in fact, Carmen had feelings for Bucky, but was afraid of what people will think of them.

As an agent of the SSR, she and her fellow agent Peggy Carter witness Steve's transformation to Captain America. When Steve needed to save Bucky, Carmen didn't hesitate to partner up with Captain America, earning her code name "La Adelita". After the successful rescue, she and Bucky had finally confessed their feelings. A month later, Carmen had lost Bucky, then her best friend Steve.

After the war, she felt that there's nothing left for her in the United States. Overwhelmed in grief, she was out of the grid, hiding in Mexico, where one night she was assaulted by a gang and left to die, little did she knew is that fate had very different plan for her. 

Upon her awakening, she realized that she was in a strange place in the future. She discovers about her past, and who she really is. Now blessed with enhanced abilities, she desire to help the helpless.

Learn about the truth of her past, discover the truth as she becomes an Avenger. Where she'll be reunited with old friends and her love, though it will be a journey for them to rekindle what they had.
