Once her roommate vanishes, she sets out to find answers to her friend's disappearance. In the process, the justice-loving, pizza-eating brothers can't stand idly by while evil Shredder and his minions terrorize the city. "D-Donnie-" "Just get out." Donnie's voice is quiet again, his hand shaking as he picks up a paper. "Get out and let me figure this out in peace." Something rises in the leader, similar to the gut instinct he gains when his team is about to walk into a trap, or there's a danger lurking just out of sight. He knows that it would be easy to leave, to obey his stressed younger brother and allow him to continue his work. In a way, this had been what he'd wanted, hadn't it? But this is wrong. Donnie had left during their argument a few evening before. Left on a horrible note of blame and anger and stress that hadn't faded. His little brother may not have realized it yet, but they needed to remedy this or it was only going to get worse. Leo started this, and now he's going to finish it.Complete

Donatello was a genius with a great understanding of technology, and everyone knew him as such. What would happen, though, if all of his ideas ran out and exhaustion caught up with him? What if he finally realized all of his trauma from his work as a ninja and all of the bullying from his family? Maybe he would reach his breaking point, maybe he'd give up. Maria Sanava is a country girl, but unlike her parents, she isn't interested in working on an apple farm her whole life. She wants to do something that makes a mark on the world. (Zootopia anyone?) All her life she has been involved in extracurriculars, top of her classes in everything. She took art, english, math, science, forensic science, physics, philosophy, history, and even a few martial arts. But she couldn't ever figure out what it was that she wanted to do. But that would change when she accompanied her parents and little brother on a trip to New York for a large shipment of apples and a business offer for her parents. The two week trip gets turned around when she meets Leonardo and his family, who just can't figure out what the foot clan is doing, chasing after some random apple girl from the country. Turns out, being good at everything has it's downsides, but this trip is going to change Leo and Maria's view of the world forever.
