There were only a few things I was certain of by this time, 10:03PM, Saturday at Frello's. 

1. Never agree on taking anything without knowing what you'll give in exchange. Never. Always think that people don't just spontaneously give shiny, black Hyundais because they say 'it just seems more fitting and convenient for you.' At least attempt to be suspicious immediately. Do not squeal and run to it for a first go.

2. Keep number 1 in mind when it comes to relatives. Even the ones that seem capable of giving you stuff out of the blue. Trust me. It. Is. A. Trap.


Who knew that one dinner could change the course of so many of Laura Prescott's plans?
