Kelsie can hear them, the vampires.  She can hear what they are saying and she can feel when they are close.  Her parents stuck her in an institution and forgot about her.  When the vampires come for her, a hero appears and breaks her out of her prison.

Clint is a vampire hunter and doesn't have the time to babysit a girl that hears voices in her head.  He doesn't need a partner but his heart won't let him leave the girl to the twisted minds of the orderlies that have made her life hell.
