After years of hiding in the shadows, from plain sight, their species have been revealed to the world. Mercenaries from across the oceans have begun their hunt for fish people. Alberto has been taken away from his home after being discovered and was sent to an ocean base where's he's been experimented on to the point of exhaustion. When he meets a feral Siren named Maria, who's a totally different species, an unlikely bond happens between them as they plan to escape together to Canada. However, they're both caught in a tornado of reflection and must struggle to survive in this darkened world. When Alberto chooses to bring his human friends along, there's only more questions than answers separating him to choose to swim with the ocean's currents or fight against it like humans do.
