16 year old Kevin Dawn is madly in love, but with his best friend, Brandon. Kevin is a wild gay boy who has learned not to care what people say about him. Especially after he was bullied for being gay and having two fathers. He's making it through with the help of his friends, but his best friend just makes everything complicated. Sending mixed signals, and receiving, he's lost his mind. 

Brandon Elkin is already 17 and still alone. After his parents died two years ago he's been living on his own. He has his friends to help him, but he still can't forget his parents. He thinks he can't be happy because they're gone now. Kevin tries to help as best as he can, but Brandon ignores him. With Brandon being in love with Kevin, he doesn't really want to be near him anymore. He wants to protect what they have, but it just destroys them. And although this seems nearly impossible, and becomes a long journey, Heather is challenged by her school shrink to change and show her mom and little sister that she can turn into her old self again, that is, if she's willing to cooperate with getting help to change, in the blink of an eye.

"Plus-" He adds on, "You're my best friend, if anything, you being gay is a blessing. I'll always support you." He says, glancing at me through the side of his eyes. I look away, towards the door to hide the crimson blush that I feel spread over my face. "Thanks." I all but squeak out.
